Getting started with Tidio Chat

If you’re a new user, taking your first steps with our chat app this is the perfect place to start! You’ll find useful information and tips about setting up both your chat widget and operator's panel - you will be able to start utilizing it right away.


Creating an account

First things first, you should set up an account. You can do it on our website at, by clicking the “Try it out” or "Get started" button:

This will take you to the sign-up process - you just need to provide your email address, website's URL and password:

And that’s it! You have started your account and initiated a 7-day trial of Tidio Chat. During this time you have access to all of Tidio's features; upon expiration of the trial you will be asked whether you'd like to subscribe or downgrade to the basic version (which you can use for free for an unlimited time). You can see detailed information about our pricing and current plan options under: 

After you sign up, you will be asked to enter your Company name (chat label) - this won't be visible to your visitors when they initiate a chat with you (except in Business theme). You can also edit that later in Widget Settings.

The next step is adjusting the visuals of your Tidio Chat plugin:

Here you can adjust the color of your chat, along with the picture that your visitors will see inside the widget installed on your website, as well the default language of your widget.

Last, but not least - setting up the widget on your site.

You can install it either via pasting the javascript in the header section of your site or by installing it via plugin. The plugin installation is available when your website is hosted on services such as Shopify or Wix. For further details regarding the installation, please see this article.


Tidio Chat is now up and running - you can now start chatting with your site’s visitors.

Logging into your account

If you have installed Tidio Chat from one of the platforms below, then you may access your chat panel directly from the respective platform’s panel:

If you’d like to use our mobile app or log in via, please go to your chat panel and click the “Create your account” button. 

If you have installed Tidio Chat to your website using our JavaScript code then you may log in to our website using the email and password you provided during the installation.
